The Arden-Carmichael Council 4970, Knights of Columbus is a Catholic Family Fraternal Service Organization, which helps families grow together in love while assisting the Church and the communities in the Arden Carmichael areas of Sacramento. Members of the council are aggressively involved in activities of our four main parishes in various ministries including Eucharistic Ministers, Ministers of Hospitality, Lecturers, Pastoral Council members and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Our Council meets twice monthly at the parish of Our Lady of Assumption at 7:30 pm. The Council Business Meeting is conducted on the second Tuesday of the month, and the Planning Meeting is conducted on the fourth Tuesday of the month. All card carrying Brother Knights are welcome to attend.

Events this Columbian Year:

  • Throughout the Columbian Year our council hosts a series of pancake breakfasts for fund-raising at each of our four parishes.

  • Early in the year, the Student Basketball Free Throw Contest is held. Also hosted by the council is the annual dinner for parish religious members.

  • In the Spring, Altar Server Awards are made to each of our four parishes. Also, Scholarship awards will be granted to two 8th grade students from each of our four parishes with $750 scholarships to a Catholic High School. The Spring program includes the $300 eigth grade essay writing contest awards and grade school coloring contests.

  • In the Fall, the October Cioppino Dinner is held, which contributes to the parish of St. John the Evangelist for its 50th year as a parish.

  • Also in October we conduct our annual fundraiser for the Intellectually Disabled. Donations are received from folks attending Mass at three parishes and with the help of public and parish school youth from patrons at four local supermarkets and a popular ice cream parlor.

  • In November the annual Mass and luncheon is held for widows of knights.
